Special Interest Group (SIG) Meetings

SIG is an acronym for Special Interest Group, identifying a group of users interested in a particular subject who discuss the subject at meetings and/or online.

SIGs exist for almost any subject.  The  FCHOA Computer & Technology Club currently sponsors two (2) SIGs iOS SIG, and HAM SIG.  The single common denominator in a SIG is user participation and willingness to share experiences.  SIGs are not lecture or classroom sessions.  Everyone contributes their ideas on the subject.

iOS SIG and MAC SIG

These two SIGs usually alternates their meetings on the first Wednesday following the Computer & Technology Club's General Meeting which is on the Third Monday of each month.  This is a Special Interest Group on “iOS,” the Apple Mobile Operating System and all its hardware and software associated functionalities. The purpose of this SIG is to expand our understanding of this relatively new and highly important technology.  SIG members are expected to contribute to and participate in the discussions and any study groups that may evolve.

HAM SIG

This is a Special Interest Group about Amateur “HAM” Radio issues.  Most Members are licensed Ham radio operators, and their discussions are often highly technical relating to all aspects of amateur and other types of radio broadcasting. If you are interested in becoming an Amateur radio operator, or if you are into Short Wave radio listening, then watch for announcements about this HAM SIG.
